Nebraska woman injured in a shooting in Sarpy County, the suspect arrested
Sarpy County, Nebraska – Tuesday night shooting in Sarpy County resulted with one woman injured and hospitalized, the local authorities confirmed.
According to the incident report, the female victim, whose identity was not released by the authorities, was grazed in the head by a bullet and suffered non-life-threatening injuries. She was transferred to hospital in stable condition and is expected to be recover soon.
The shooting took place near 155th and Gertrude streets in the evening hours around 10:30 p.m.
The officers who responded at the scene arrested the shooter who was later identified as the 22-year-old Cody Hawkins-Claussen. He was booked in Sarpy County Jail before midnight and held with no bond.
Hawkins-Claussen is charged with second-degree assault.
Deputies with the Sarpy County Sheriff’s Office responded at the scene following a 911 call and were later joined by the Nebraska State Patrol troopers in setting up a perimeter.
The authorities didn’t provide more details what had happened what led to the shooting.
